Clashes broke out in Warri, Delta State, as Itsekiri youths Monday protested over the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) delineation.

The protest turned violent, with findings revealing that the situation escalated into chaos when they got to Ijaw boats hub at NPA waterfront.

According to Isaac Ozobo, Chairman of the Drivers' Union, the protesters claimed ownership of the land where the boat hub is located and demanded that operations cease. The union resisted, fearing violence would ensue. The protesters responded by throwing stones and bottles, injuring some union members.

"They tried to come in our gate, by stopping them they throwed stones and bottles on us, some us were injured at the process," Ozobo partly stated.

While the overall Chairman  emphasized that his union had no issues with anyone, stating, "We don't have a problem with anyone. It was the Itsekiri group that came that gave us a problem." Despite provocation, the union members were restrained from retaliating.
