100 days in office: W/S Council Chairman promises more infrastructural projects in Warri South
In fulfillment of his electioneering campaigns to the people of Warri South Local Government Area, the Chairman of the Council Hon. Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac has promised more developmental projects to the people of the Council as encapsulated in his More Grace agenda.
Hon. Comrade Isaac disclosed this on Monday in his media parley in Warri , Delta State over his one hundred days in office. According to him, the Council would not only wear new look but what investors see in other parts of the country such as Lagos to make them invest there, would be replicated in Warri South to attract investors to the local government area. The Chairman who many referred to as great strategist and innovative man said, virtually all the sectors of the economy of Warri South would experience speedy growth and development. He said plans are under way to ensure improvement on the health, agriculture, security, more skill acquisition programmes, among others.
According to him, many of roads in the Council area are under going rehabilitation as his administration has zero tolerance for pot holes. He made special reference to Omadino/ Obodo Road which is under construction, that would be commissioned soon. He said, the various markets in Warri South Local Government have been empowered with revolving loans with a tune of 1 million each to boost their businesses and aprons for both males and females to make them unique as seen in markets in other parts of the country.
He said, as part of the way to care for the needy in the Council, widows, aged ones and people with disabilities have been put in pay rolls and to receive some stipends at the end of each month.
According to the Chairman who was flanked by the Vice Chairman, Comrade Kingsley Edafeadjebre and members of Exco said, there is the construction of abattoir in Pessu Market in Warri where meat from cow would be packaged and branded as this would help to boost the image of the city. He said, this would also apply to agriculture as the administration would be involved in agriculture as there is nothing wrong if the Council is able to produce garri and brand it "Made in Warri".
The Council boss said, his administration would ensure there is security adding, rapid growth and development would not strive in the atmosphere of chaos. His words: "All what l am saying will not be possible if there is no peace in the area". He said, efforts are made to ensure the various vigilantes in the area are profiled and work in synergy with the various security agencies to ensure there is peace in the local government area as that would guarantee night life in Warri to make life pleasurable especially for those who operate night businesses.
He expressed appreciation to the Delta State Governor Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who has given him the opportunity to serve and whose MORE AGENDA he has keyed into to make these developments to take place.
According to him, if not for Governor Oborevwori who has the MORE AGENDA to improve on the lots of Deltans, he would not have been able to plan these plans which has giving birth to the rapid growth and development of the Council.
He however said, any project which is above the Council's financial capability, he would always resort to the state Governor, whom he said, would be willing to assist.
According to him, all he has earmarked for rebranding of local government may look impossible but expressed optimism that they would be realisable with the co-operation of his executive members and entire people of the local government area.
The highlight of the programme was encomium through songs of solidarity, showered on the Chairman by his executive members, some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders around, among others.
