A Warri based human rights activist, Comrade(Amb) Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen today expressed worries at the re-integration into society of terrorists who have terrorized communities, brutalized innocent persons, destroyed homes, displaced families and killed many Nigerian citizens.

This is contained in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri by Agberen.

Agberen who kicked against the move said, "many of them (terrorists) are unable to account for the lives they have taken, and are now being described as “repentant” in preparation for reintegration."

According to him, "Where does justice fit into this narrative? What about the lives lost? Did their lives not hold value? Do they not deserve justice?

"It is challenging to comprehend a system that appears to sympathize with those responsible for such atrocities while disregarding the rights and suffering of peaceful, law-abiding citizens.

"Justice needs to be unequivocal and unwavering. A society that fails to hold perpetrators fully accountable risks undermining its moral fabric and jeopardizing its future."

Agberen also suggested that,"As the principle goes: a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

"True justice must reflect the severity of the crimes committed. Without justice, lasting peace remains unattainable."
