2027: South-South ADC didn't endorse Amaechi - Pat Utomi
Former Presidential aspirant and a stalwart of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Professor Pat Utomi, has dismissed reported endorsement of Mr Rotimi Amaechi as consensus presidential candidate by South-South leaders of the ADC.
Utomi was at a meeting of South-South ADC leaders on February 27 in Benin City at the home of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun where Amaechi was said to have been endorsed as a sole flagbearer of ADC in the South-South.
Shedding some light on what transpired during the meeting , Utomi who wrote
on X. In Benin, ADC South-South leaders met. Chibuike Amaechi announced interest in contesting for the Party’s presidential ticket.
“His request was received as is the tradition. No word of discussion took place on the matter. Representation of endorsement is inaccurate and disingenuous.”
Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State and Transportation minister has since declared the interest to run for presidency in 2027 on the platform of the ADC. He would face competition from the likes of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who have also made their aspirations public.
