Centre for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Crusade (CHURAC) has applauded the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for the arrest of some drug kingpins who have been smuggling contraband drugs into the Country. CHURAC is particularly concerned about the timely arrest of one Emami Ajetsibogho, a younger brother to Mr. Ayirimi Emami. This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman,Board of Trustees, Centre for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Crusade (CHURAC),Alaowei, Cleric Ebikonbowei, Esq. The group vowed that it will send its legal team to monitor the entire process. "We shall assist the Agency where necessary to ensure that justice is prevailed in the end."

According to the group,We can't thank the NDLEA enough for its prompt action to arrest such a drug cartel from Warri area of Delta State. His exposure, thorough investigation and possible prosecution will not only halt the spread of contraband drugs but it will also dissuade many misguided youths from fermenting ethnic violence in Warri.

"Mr. Ayirimi Emami has been a vocal voice inciting violence in Warri because of the INEC's Supreme Court ordered fresh ward delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency.

"We're not surprised that his younger sibling is involved in illegal drugs dealing.

It's therefore safe to conclude that thorough investigation and possible prosecution of the culprit will mean a lot to the sustenance of peace in Warri.
We therefore call on NDLEA to resist the temptation of some money bag influencers who want to interfere with the investigation."

It noted that in Delta State and of course other States in the Country; Cultism, Advanced Fee Fraud (Yahoo Yahoo), armed robbery, etc are being influenced by hard drugs.

It stressed that,"Many of the youth who hide under ethnic rendition to stoke inter-ethnic crisis in Warri are under the influence of hard drugs."

One Ajetsibogho Emami, younger brother to prominent Warri Chief Ayirimi Emami was arrested by the NDLEA Strike Force,Apapa Command in Lagos State. There were attempts to bribe the men of agency with about two hundred million naira but they refused that the law take its cause.

The group further explained that,"While our society is being plaguing by the youths under the influence of hard drugs, the smugglers of these drugs have exposed us to the real danger of the societal proclivities.

"Except the government is effectively alive to its responsibility in enforcing the extant laws prohibiting smuggling of contraband drugs and the consumption of same, our society is doomed.

"The youths under the influence of hard drugs have been involving in varying degrees of crimes against humanity.

"Drugs related offences have been declared capital offences in many parts of the Asian continent.

"The reason is because that is the height the governments of the affected countries responded to curb the menace hard drugs.

"Nigeria is not immune from the menace of hard drugs. The youths involved in social vices including the sectarian violence are mostly under the influence of hard drugs."
