They stood out through their clarity, poise, and understanding of contemporary global issues, defeating peers in multiple intense debate rounds.

Receiving the team at Government House in Asaba, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori described the victory as a validation of his administration’s focused investment in education.

"I am truly delighted by the intellectual depth and eloquence demonstrated by these students. They are true ambassadors of Delta State,” the Governor said.

Oborevwori highlighted several initiatives under his MORE Agenda school renovations, teacher recruitment and training, provision of learning materials, and support for extracurricular programs as key drivers of the state's rising academic excellence.

"This proves that our efforts are working. These children were trained right here in Delta, yet they are ready for the world stage.

As a reward for their achievement, the Governor announced that the state would fully sponsor the students' trip to Qatar.

"Delta State is proud to sponsor your international trip without hesitation. We are committed to supporting young talents who represent us positively.”

He urged the students to uphold good conduct, listen to their coaches, and return as global champions.

"You are already winners. I believe you'll achieve even more at the World Championship. Delta no dey carry last!”

Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu, congratulated the students and praised their national performance, while SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Samuel Mariere, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s support.

"The children have made Delta State proud. We’ll give our best as we prepare them for the world stage,” Mariere said
