Egbo promises to leave a tall legacy for Ughelli North

The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has promised to leave an enduring legacy  for the people of Ughelli North, noting that the return of peace to the area was his masterstroke in conjunction with security operatives.

The lawyer turned politician made the promise during a chat with PEBNEWS Wednesday in his office.

Egbo who said that a good name and an enduring legacy is what he will bequeath to his people, noted that it is the reason he is executing projects that will benefit all.

According to Egbo, "My focus remains on delivering effective governance and service to the people just as I remain steadfast in my commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

"Within the 10-months of my administration, I started the renovation my office, that of the Vice Chairman, Leader of the house, Secretary, H.P.M and the total renovation of the councilors’ offices and council secretariat.

"I purchased eight (8) official vehicles for Principal Officers, we are constructing a massive children Cottage Hospital, including Doctors and Nurses Quarters within the Hospital.

"The greatest of these is the  construction of Ultra-Modern Storey Secretariat building, additional offices for Councillors and plans are underway to build either a police station or a customary court in each of the seven kingdoms in the local government."

The Anglican Knight further disclosed that his administration has commenced the project of solar power electrification of the Chairman’s office and a solar security light for the entire secretariat premises.

"I have already procured the first batch of 300 writing desks/ benches for primary and secondary schools in Ughelli North. We have donated desks to Ekiugbo Grammar School recently too.

"My administration has provided housing for security operatives sent by the Commissioner of Police which has led to the return of peace in Ughelli and reduced incidents of kidnapping and robberies. I also purchased and installed a 500KVA transformer in Ekrabovwe Quarter." Egbo stated.
