Tompolo has no question, Right activist, Israel Joe replies EFCC

A Warri based human right activist, Comrade Israel Joe today said  Ex-Niger Delta Agitator, High Chief (Dr ) Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo Alias Tompolo has no question before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 

Comrade made the assertion during an interview with Our Correspondent in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. 

He said,"Tompolo has no Question to answer."

It would be recalled that the EFCC Spokesman,......had in. Statement said Tompolo has case to answer over the alleged abuse of the Nigerian Naira notes. 

In a reaction to a purported statement by the EFCC Spokesman, Comrade Joe said,"When you talk of criminal matters, it has to do with facts and evidences. You cannot refer to naira abuse just on mere video, and photographs."

According to Comrade Joe,the EFCC need to ascertain if the serial numbers on the naira notes are genuine to prove its case. 

He argued that,"Some persons could say they're for content creation purposes."

Comrade Joe said Tompolo is not the one who sprayed the naira notes in that the video which the EFCC is referring to in their allegations. "Somebody people sprayed and according to EFCC, he(Tompolo) stepped on them. So, he has no business with EFCC. He has not case to answer."

He said the EFCC as an agency abandoned its core responsibilities and be running after petty thieves. 

While noting that he and his organization are standing for justice, Comrade said,"We don't want selective vindictiveness because, that's what the EFCC has been doing from time."

He opined that" I think, they (EFCC) just need to after their past Chairmen on cases of fraud and high handedness. By giving the immediate past chairman of the EFCC, Absurasheed Bawa. 

"So, they should not be seen as an institution  that has corrupted itself and going after those who they feel they should go after instead of going after criminals or corrupt persons in our society."
