Kestin Pondi Expands Business Grant to ₦190M, 38 Entrepreneurs receive ₦5M each

In a remarkable display of generosity, High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, surprised participants at the Kestin Pondi Business Grant by increasing the total grant amount from ₦100 million to ₦190 million, ensuring that 38 entrepreneurs each received ₦5 million to support their businesses. 

 
The grant, initially designed to select 20 winners from a pool of 40 finalists, took an unexpected turn when Chief Pondi, moved by the dedication and passion of the participants, decided that almost all present should receive funding.  

The 40 finalists had undergone a rigorous training session on business management and development, after which only 20 winners were originally set to be awarded ₦5 million each. However, to the amazement of the participants, 38 out of the 40 who attended the event walked away with the grant.  

Explaining his decision, Chief Pondi stated that "This was meant to be a celebration of my birthday, but beyond that, I believe in giving back to society. If I have ₦1, I should be able to share 50% of it with those in need because times are tough, and many businesses require a push to grow. Initially, the plan was to select 20 winners, but after watching the passion with which they defended their business proposals, I couldn’t allow them to leave empty-handed. It brings me joy to support others, and that’s why I decided to increase the number of beneficiaries."

The Kestin Pondi Business Grant Committee Chairman, Victor Isereke, shed light on the selection process. He explained that the grant was conceived as a birthday initiative for High Chief Kestin Pondi aimed at empowering 20 entrepreneurs with ₦5 million each.  

"When we opened applications, we received an overwhelming 9,300 plus entries. It took weeks of intense and rigorous screening to narrow it down to 40 finalists,  who were invited for a final pitch session. After the physical interview, 20 winners were selected. However, in an extraordinary act of kindness, the sponsor decided to award all 38 present at the event, turning it into a life-changing experience for so many."

The atmosphere at the event was filled with emotions tears of joy, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude. Entrepreneurs from across the country, including Abuja, Bayelsa, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, had traveled to participate, demonstrating the national impact of Chief Kestin Pondi’s initiative.  

Some recipients fell to the ground in disbelief, while others embraced one another, overwhelmed by the unexpected generosity. The grant has not only transformed the lives of 38 entrepreneurs but also reinforced the importance of philanthropy, community support, and economic empowerment in Nigeria.
