Uduaghan defends wife amidst senate president dispute

High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, has broken his silence on the ongoing dispute between his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio. 

In a statement released on March 1, 2025, High Chief Uduaghan expressed concerns over the harassment his wife has endured from the Senate President, despite his efforts to resolve the issue amicably.

According to High Chief Uduaghan, his wife was duly elected by her people due to her exceptional qualities and commitment to delivering quality representation. He emphasized that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is a devoted wife and has always remained truthful, even in the face of adversity.

High Chief Uduaghan revealed that he had personally met with Senate President Akpabio, whom he considered a family friend, to urge him to extend courtesy and respect to his wife. Although they reached an understanding to resolve the issue amicably, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan continues to express concerns about the harassment she has faced.

The Alema of Warri Kingdom has unwavering faith in his wife's loyalty and is committed to their marriage, which is grounded in love, compassion, and mutual respect. He has respectfully urged the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Senate President to treat his wife with the respect and dignity she deserves while the relevant authorities and the court determine the underlying issues.
