Abia: Police raid criminal hideout, recover 6 stolen vehicles

Six stolen vehicles have been recovered by the Police in Aba, Abia State, following a raid on a criminal hideout in Uratta area, Aba South Council Area.

Confirming the raid on the hideout, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, stated that the raid was carried out by men of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, following a tip off.

The PPRO explained that investigations revealed that the six vehicles were snatched at gunpoint in different areas of the state and environs.

She further disclosed that some of the suspects were tracked and arrested while investigations are ongoing to arrest those still at large.

The PPRO said;" On 20-01-2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Abia State Command, during an intelligence-led sting operations, raided a criminal hideout in Uratta, Aba, where the six vehicles listed above were recovered. 

"These vehicles were mostly snatched at gunpoint. Suspects were tracked, arrested, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects."

She urged those with valid documents on the stolen vehicles to visit the state Command headquarters for authentication and reclaiming.

The recovered vehicles include; an Ash-colored Toyota Camry, with Reg No: LSD 885 CX; Aris Red-colored Toyota with Reg No: GDD 254 AA, Chassis No: JTOBT90317113755; Navy blue-colored Toyota RAV4, Reg No: AG 743 BRR, Chassis No: JTEGH20V810030195;
black-colored Toyota 4Runner, Reg No: ABC 903 BR, Chassis No: ZT3HN86Y0323994;
Toyota RAV4, Reg No: KTU 778 BR, Chassis No: JTEGH20V430090641
as well as an ash-colored Toyota Sienna bus, Reg No: GWB 350 HM, Chassis No: 5TD2A23C45128038, Engine No: 4201838."
