In a ceremony held at the Police Officers' Mess in Asaba, Delta State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, decorated 100 newly promoted officers, including a Deputy Commissioner of Police, two Assistant Commissioners of Police, and 97 other officers across various ranks.

The decorated officers included DCP Ado Ibrahim, formerly AC CID State Criminal Investigation Department; ACP Sadiq M. Mana, formerly DPO 'A' Division Ughelli; and ACP Maiyaki Joyce Mathew, formerly DPO Kwale Division. Other promoted officers included CSP Obekpa Michael, Admin Officer Department of Operations; CSP Omo-Uwuigbe Nosakhare, Commander Rapid Response Squad; and CSP Mohammed Balarabe Ibrahim, Commander Crack Squad.

Commissioner Abaniwonda, who performed the decoration ceremony on behalf of Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, urged the promoted officers to remember that "the reward for hard work is more work."

He advised them to put in more effort while discharging their duties and ensure they don't disappoint the Inspector General of Police and the public.

This development comes as Commissioner Abaniwonda continues to lead the Delta State Police Command in maintaining law and order in the state. Recently, he ordered a massive deployment of personnel to ensure a hitch-free local government election in Delta State.
