Uvwie Day: There's no illegal revenue collection since HRM. Sideso came, Chief Joel ***As Yorubas, Arewa declare Uvwie peaceful

President-General of Ndigbo,Delta Central and South,Chief(Amb.) Aminu Ndidi Joel JP today said since HRM.Emmanuel.E. Sideso Abe I, assumed office as the Ovie(King) of Uvwie Kingdom, illegal revenue collection otherwise known as "Deve" no longer exists in the land.

Chief Joel made the assertion during a chat with Our Correspondent at the just concluded Uvwie Day celebration that was held yesterday.

He assured Nigerians particularly businessmen to come and build, develope their properties and invest in Uvwie Kingdom.

He said they should not look at Uvwie Kingdom as a land of crisis also known as "Gbege". 

Chief Joel who described Uvwie people as very accommodative and hospitable said, "Uvwie is land of milk and honey and it's a land of peace. There's no crisis. No more "Deve" and they receive strangers."

Chief Joel noted that the Igbo people resident in Uvwie are living in peace with their host Uvwie people just like their Hausa, Yoruba, Esan counterparts do. He stressed,"Uvwie is also safe for business ".

Also in an interview with Our Correspondent, the leader of Egbe Omo Yoruba Ni Uvwie, Asiwaju Salami Olaniyi  said Uvwie is a very peaceful place to stay and do business just as he enjoined investors who left the town before now to return and reinvest in Uvwie Kingdom. 

Asiwaju Salami who expressed delight at the Uvwie Day celebration said: "We are here to display our culture because Nigeria is one culture. Yorubas have their culture, Hausa have their culture, Urhobo have their culture. So, we are here to display our culture. That's why we are here celebrate this Uvwie Day."

Asiwaju also urged Yoruba youths to continue to live in peace and harmony with their host Uvwie people and not get themselves in any form of violence and criminal activities, drug peddling and addiction amongst others. He stressed that, they should continue to display the peaceful nature (character) which the Yorubas are known for to their Uvwie brothers and sisters and Kingdom.

The leader of Arewa Community in Uvwie Kingdom, Alhaji Sulaiman Jauro who was represented by Muhammad Lawali Umar said Uvwie is the most peaceful local government in the whole of Delta State. He added by saying, "Delta State is the most peaceful State in Nigeria."

Alhaji Jauro said the people of Uvwie Kingdom  accommodative strangers alot pointing out that, they're also very hospitable. According to Alhaji Jauro,"In our geographical location, we don't stay like that. We stay in peace, harmony and unity in Uvwie with their people. 

"Nowhere you can take your business and sell it and make profit like in Uvwie. Once you can follow their rules and regulations, the time for revenue you pay, nobody will disturb you in Uvwie and they can accommodate."

Alhaji Jauro also enjoined the Arewa people to always obey the rules and regulations of Uvwie Kingdom and continue to live in peace with the people. 

He also appealed to the people of Uvwie Kingdom especially the leadership to always be patient with the Arewa people just as he said Uvwie should  continue to accommodate them so they can all enjoy the existing peace together.
