DSUST students commend Oborevwori for approving N713m Bursary for Students

Students of the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro have commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the Year 2024 Bursary Award to Students of Delta State origin in all higher  institutions.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the students by the Students Union President, Comrade Oghenetega Caleb Akpokona on Thursday.

Akpokona noted that the bursary will go a long way in ameliorating the pains students faced under the harsh economic reality of the country.

According to the Students' Leader, "It is a good news that our amiable Governor has granted our bursary. This shows how much he feels the pains of the students.

"No doubt, this gesture will caution the harsh effects the prevailing economic situation has on students. We are excited and we commend him.

"The students are feeling his MORE Agenda already and we hope for more. We also urge the Governor to sustain the new minimum wage he has commenced so that our lecturers can continue the great work they are doing.

"We as students want to reiterate that we will continue to be good ambassadors of the state." Akpokona added.
According to Dr. Godfrey Enita, Executive Secretary, Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, the bursary award will be paid only to qualified students who applied for the 2024 bursary award. 

Enita said that a total of 32,028 Students are expected to benefit from the 2024 bursary award.
