The Co-ordinator of Safe and Better Nigeria (SBN), Comr. Solomon Charles Ikpaka has, on Tuesday, bagged an Award of Excellence in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
PEBNEWS reports that the award was presented to Ikpak by the leadership of Alabini National Youth Council (ANYC) due to his uncommon love and commitment towards the development of Niger Delta communities.
The award was presented to the Co-ordinator of the Non-governmental organisation, Ikpaka during a one-day summit tagged: "Vision for Greatness, with the theme: 'The Agents of Change for the Global Goal'.
Speaking during the presentation, the President of ANYC, Comrade Thank-God Funkepere, said Ikpaka, through his Non-governmental organization, the Safe and Better Nigeria, has contributed immensely to the growth of communities in the Niger Delta.
He said the award was meant to show appreciation to what SBN has been doing since its formation - to encourage them and other groups to do more in their quest for a more conducive society.
In his response, Ikpaka expressed thanks to God for bringing the activities of SBN to limelight and to the admiration of well-meaning individuals who have come to identify with the good works they've done within this period.
In his word: "First of all, I give thanks to God Almighty for this award because he is the inspiration behind the Safe and Better Nigeria (SBN) which we've been using to reshape the society in the little way we can - based on our capacity.
"It is really encouraging to see that the society is pleased with the little efforts we're making to make our communities better and safer.
"And so, on behalf of myself and the entire members of SBN, we say a big thank you to Alabini National Youth Council Worldwide for this recognition which will serve as a morale booster," he noted.
The SBN Coordinator described the recognition as not just an award, but a call for greater service to humanity.
He also vowed along with his team to do more in improving the living standard of Niger Deltans.
