Sapele standstill as Gbagbanor marries heartthrob, Ann in Delta

The city of Sapele in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday October 26, 2024 stood still as Mr. Daniel Aghogho Ugbune a.k.a, Gbagbanor traditionally married his heartthrob, Miss Ann Efemena Eghenolohor in line with Urhobo customs and tradition. In a chat with Our Correspondent, the elated  Gbagbanor thanked God Almighty for the making his dream come through. 

He said when he was much younger, he thought getting married was one very big thing until he married his wife as he fulfilled all traditional rites. He stressed this is race everyone must go through in life. 

According to Gbagbanor: "I am so grateful. I give thanks to God Almighty who made this a reality. I also want to thank my parents, my town, Ugbakele-Mosogar Community, my friends and others for their supports."

Gbagbanor who spoke in Urhobo Language noted that marriage is a relationship based on understanding between two persons.

He said during the process of relationship with his wife, they didn't do anything to complicate issues. "During the process, we nor do anything wey complicate ourselves."

He also appreciated his wife, Mrs. Ann Ugbune for the sincerity she displayed during their relationship till date. "Am grateful. I appreciate her for her sincerity during our relationship."

On her part, Mrs. Ann Ugbune said she chose Gbagbanor to be her husband despite the large population of men in the world because, she loved him. 

"I choose him as my husband because I love him. He is a very nice man."

Mrs. Ann Ugbune hinted that she met her hubby when she was in her final year in College of Physical Health Education, Mosogar, Delta State.

The event which was held at Ojolu Main field under Power Line in Sapele, was a gathering of the creme de'la creme as Politicians, businessmen, technocrats, the academia, family members and friends gathered in honour of the couple.

The bride's mother, Mrs. Carol Eghenolohor expressed delight that her daughter, Mrs. Ann Ugbune got married today. She prayed that the couple live long, be blessed, have children, live in love and peace. 

Mrs. Eghenolohor also said her daughter, Mrs. Ann Ugbune must always respect her husband all the time. 

Father of the bride, Mr. Memba gave his consent and traditionally handed his daughter to Mr. Daniel in marriage just as he offered prayers and blessed their union. 

Our Correspondent who was there, reports that the event was like carnival as guests were treated to a lavished reception by the couple.
