Skill Acquisition programmes: EMT Foundation empowers 17 persons with starter packs.

A non-governmental organisation, Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation(EMT)  which is  dedicated to  empowering  communities, has  celebrated  17 graduands from its Batch 'A' Skills  Acquisition Programmes.

The  ceremony which took place on Friday  at the Jubilee Conference Centre  Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, was unique in its perceptive.

The graduands who  were trained in different fields of interest such as culinary, barbing,  baking of cake, event management, makeup, Gele tying  among others, were  given  starter packs that include: deep freezers, makeup accessories, industrial cake mixers, ovens, and gas cylinders- all  aimed to strengthen their beginnings.

Speaking at the ceremony, the founder of Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation (EMTF),Esther Matthew Tonlagha,  reiterated her commitment to giving back to society. According to her, the programme  is in line  with the foundation’s vision of uplifting communities through skills  development. 

Her words:“Some of  the graduands  were trained for periods ranging from three to six months, and I’m proud of what they have achieved".

Tonlagha disclosed  further that, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd  has given,  as a way of support to the foundation, brand  new generators  to all the  17 participants in the programme and therefore  urged the  beneficiaries to make good  use of the materials given to them just as she admonished them to use  social media to position  their small businesses  for speedy  growth.

On his part, the Co-ordinator of the foundation(EMT),Frank  Onaiwo, highlighted the modality of  application and selection of beneficiaries for programme. He explained that, the foundation monitored the participants throughout the programme  to ensure they successfully completed their training.

His words:"They were provided with transport money  to ensure they lacked nothing while  their training lasted".

Responding, one of the beneficiaries of the programme,  Faith  Okirìka appreciated  the organisers, saying,  the  empowerment would go a long way to solve her financial challenges  in the long run.

Another beneficiary of the programme, Douye Ojo said:"  I am most grateful to God and   EMT Foundation for the opportunity given to me  to participate in this skills  Acquisition programmes.  If I were to pay for this training myself, I would not have been focused enough to complete the training. But EMT Foundation has enabled me to complete this training".

The  foundation has made its impact by   empowering various  communities  for some time now  by providing  them with the necessary skills acquisition programmes and financial assistance in one way or the order for them to live   worthy  lives.
