We'll continue to safeguard oil infrastructure, Army declares

The General Officer Command, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. J H Abdusallam today said the Nigerian Army will continue to safeguard the nation's critical infrastructure in order to create a conducive atmosphere for increase in the output of oil. 

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam made the remark at the commissioning of newly reconstructed 3 Battalion Soldiers transit accommodation at the Nigerian Army Barracks,Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. 

While noting that Nigerian's  economy dependents mostly on oil, Maj. Gen Abdusallam pointed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave matching order that effect. 

His words:" We should do all it takes to increase and improve the output of crude oil for the benefits of our country.  We have been in series of several operation in the Niger Delta both in Rivers State, Bayelsa, Delta, and others".

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam noted that the production of crude oil has  increased pointing out that, the efforts of the  operations of the Nigerian Army has yielded good results. 

According to him: "We have destroyed so many illegal refineries, we can't even mention the numbers  because they are so many.  And we have confiscated so many illegal products." 

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam urged illegal bunkers to look for other genuine means of livelihood to make money.  His words:" "There are many ways of making money. Its not only through stealing of our common natural resources".
