The Wakili Nupe of Warri and its  environs in Delta State, Alhaji Zuberu Mohammed Tajudeen today said traders in Igbudu Market will not participate in the proposed nationwide protest against hunger and hardship in Nigeria.

Alhaji Tajudeen made the declaration during a chat with our Correspondent in Warri.

He said: "Market people as far as I am concerned, nobody is ready for protest. All that concerns them is the peace of the market, State and this Country."

Alhaji Tajudeen said they will also protect the market and their goods as well as ensure no hoodlum comes in to steal/siphon  what they've laboured for.

Alhaji Tajudeen called on the relevant security agencies to be on guard to forestall any break down of law and order during the protest should it take place. "The soldiers , Police, Civil Defence, Navy, DSS, Airforce and other security agencies should be on guard and take arrest criminals  during the protest", he said.

Alhaji Tajudeen noted that he has  been trying to sensitise the people against the violence because there is  no gain in it.

According to him, he himself and the Arewa Community have been praying that the problem of hunger and hardship should be adequately solved  by God Almighty. He stressed that:" No man can solve the hunger and hardship and other problems in Nigeria apart from God.

"We also plead to the protesters to do the protest in a peaceful manner. It's only God that have the right to give anything to whoever He wants to give. When God says he wants to give you anything, nobody can stop it.

"The protesters should calm down. Nigeria will be great again. I know there is  hunger and hardship in the land," he added.

Alhaji Tajudeen who lamented the hyper inflation rate in the country said:"a basket of garri I used to buy for ₦350 is now ₦3,500. Transportation is on the high side as it has skyrocketed. There is an increase in the pump price of petrol.

He urged Nigerians to join hands together with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build the nation just as he called on  members of the House of Representatives and Senators to  stop sidelining and oppressing the citizens.  He prayed that God in His infinite mercy to help the country from the shackles of hunger, hardship and corruption.
