Delsu will continue to key into the MORE Agenda of DTSG in terms of quality delivery for services - VC
The Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga said the institution will continue to key into the MORE Agenda of the state government by delivering quality services to Deltans in all ramifications.
Professor Egwunyenga stated this yesterday while playing host to the Senior Policy Adviser to the Delta State Governor and Coordinator of SERVICOM and Labour Relations in the state, Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, who led a team of top government functionaries to relaunch the SERVICOM Unit in the university.
In a press statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Deputy Director, Ceremonials Information and Public Relations, Delta State University Abraka, Patrick Ijeh, said, Delta State University places high premium on the principles of quality service delivery in line with the MORE Agenda of the state government saying that, the official relaunching of the SERVICOM Unit in the institution would give more prominence to the university as the institution would uphold the culture of effective service delivery in line with SERVICOM's mandate.
The statement reads in part: "Delta State University places high premium on the principles of quality service delivery in line with the MORE Agenda of the state government and that the official relaunching of the SERVICOM Unit in the institution will give more prominence to the university."
Professor Egwunyenga informed the delegation that students and labour unions in the university are adequately accommodated in policy formulation and implementation to ensure that the interests of staff and students are protected in a bid to motivate them to render effective services. He therefore expressed gratitude to Rt. Hon. Funkekeme for coming to revive the SERVICOM Unit in the university just as he praised him for his numerous contributions to public service, describing him as a worthy alumnus of the institution.
Speaking at the occasion, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme expressed gratitude to the Management of the University led by Prof. Egwunyenga for the good job in effectively and efficiently running the institution such that the state government has had no cause to worry.
According to him, "SERVICOM is not a new initiative having been inaugurated at the Federal level in 2004 and integrated by the Delta State Government in 2009."
The senior aide to the state governor pointed out that the principles of SERVICOM are critical to the achievement of the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government which is geared towards providing meaningful development, opportunities, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and prosperity for all Deltans.
The highlight of the re-inauguration event was a dynamic session featuring representatives of students, labour, service units, and academics and this was followed by the presentation of a copy of the Executive Order from the Delta State Government on SERVICOM and materials show-casing the SERVICOM mantra to the Vice Chancellor for widespread distribution within the University.
