Breaking: Kingsley Egbejule wins 2024 GYC presidential election
Kingsley Egbejule, a resident of Kurutie community in Gbaramatu kingdom, rolled to victory on Friday in the just concluded Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) presidential election, held at Oporoza.
The GYC Electoral Committee (ELECO) officially announced Kingsley Egbejule as the winner of the polls at 11:00pm, just after fifty (50) accredited voters from different zones cast their votes.
PEBNEWS can report that Kingsley Egbejule won with 28 votes, as Wisdom Ekeyan got 15 votes, while Daniel Osuokoro 1 vote, with 6 void votes.
Meanwhile, the other positions were returned unopposed. They include: Apst. Stephen Epiri, Vice President; Erike Tarede, General Secretary; Tolar Theresa, Assistant Secretary; Wuruyai Maxwell, Public Relations Officer (PRO); Onitsha Seiyefa, Financial Secretary; Bolie Juliet Seiyefa, Treasurer: Kpadowei Doubra, Chief Organise; and Uroju Godswill, Asst. Chief Organiser.
Expressing pleasure, Kingsley Ogbejule said, "I'm very happy and excited to serve my people, we're all Winners and we're going to walk together, to make sure Gbaramatu moves to the next level.
"As I lead this great body, I will not disappoint them. They will be proud of me."
While on the part of the immediate president, Comrade Shedrack Ebikeme said, "My message to the new elected officers is that they should keep Gbaramatu interest first before any other interest. And even those that have contested to this point, they should try as much as possible to make sure they unite together so we can build Gbaramatu together as a youth without discrimination and sentiments."
Speaking further, Shedrack also said, "Election has come and gone, this is the time to work, so they should consult stakeholders as we build Gbaramatu together and make it a better place that we will always deserve."
However, the five GYC ELECO members who conducted the election were: Mayo present Ipopo; Chairman, Joshua Otuaro; Secretary, Wazo Oyinkuro; Member, Hon. Atamba Elvis; Member, Freeborn Abraye; Member and Mrs. Tracy Edolo; Member.
