The suspect was arrested on Friday November 6 following a petition by the CDHR. The Police also rescued the victim from the whims and caprices of the suspect.
CDHR State Chairman and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen Comrade Nosa Oveseey disclosed this in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri.
According to the CDHR, "On Wednesday 4th November, 2026, CDHR Delta received a distressing report from a concerned resident of Isoko Estate Road, by Deeper Life Church, Off Jakpa Road, Uvwie LGA, Delta State.
'The report detailed the serial sèxual abúse of a 10year old girl by her biological father, Mr. David Fiabe Omimi, aged 42. According to our findings, the abúse began when the child was 7 years old."
The CDHR noted that, "The matter was previously reported by Mrs. Omimi to family members earlier this year and "settled" within the community without police involvement while the suspect, Mr. David Omimi promised to desist.
About 7 days ago, the suspect resumed the abúse.
"Acting on this information, CDHR Delta carried out immediate surveillance and on 6th November, 2026, we formally petitioned the Effurun Area Command, Delta State Police Command, under ACP Aliyu Shaba whom immediately swung into action."
The CDHR commended the Effurun Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Aliyu Shaba for his swift and professional response to their petition.
"Within minutes of receiving our petition, the suspect was arrested and the victim rescued.
"The suspect is currently in detention and has made confessional statements to the Police."
The CDHR noted that, "The victim, is now in safe custody and undergoing necessary medical and psycho-social support given that her father had pènetráted her both at her virginal and anus.
"This is a case of the highest form of wickedness and betrayal of trust. A father who should be a protector has become a predátor."
The CDHR vowed that, "there will be no compromise, no settlement, and no cover-up."
It insisted that, "Dèfilemènt is a felony under the Child Rights Law of Delta State 2008 and the Viølence Against Persons Prohibitiøn Act, VAPP 2015. It carries life imprisonment."
The CDHR also demanded speedy investigation, diligent prosecution, and maximum sentencing for Mr. David Fiabe Omimi to serve as deterrence to others.
"We commend ACP Aliyu Shaba and the Delta State Police Command for their professionalism and urge them to ensure the case file is transmitted to the DPP without delay.
"We also call on the Delta State Government, Ministry of Women Affairs, and NAPTIP to provide comprehensive support for the rehabilitation of Miss Alisha.
"Abűse thrives in silence.
If you know a child is being abúsed, speak up. CDHR and the Police will protect you.
"To parents and guardians: Believe children when they speak. Watch. Listen. Report.
"To perpetrators: The long arm of the law will find you. Delta State is not safe for child abúsers."
CDHR Delta also assured that it will continue to monitor this case to its logical conclusion.
"We will also begin a community sensitization campaign across Delta State on child protection and reporting mechanisms."
