NDLEA Makes Drug Integrity Tests Free for New Recruits in Four Interior Agencies
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that newly recruited personnel into four agencies under the Ministry of Interior will undergo mandatory Drug Integrity Tests (DIT) at no cost, warning applicants against paying officials or designated testing centres.
The agency disclosed this in a statement shared on its official X account on Friday, identifying the beneficiaries as new recruits of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
According to the NDLEA, the Ministry of Interior has already made a bulk payment to cover the testing exercise, eliminating the need for individual payments by candidates. “The Agency wishes to emphasise that no payment is required from any candidate or personnel presenting for the Drug Integrity Test, as the Ministry of Interior has already made bulk payment to cover the testing of its new intakes,” the notice stated.
The agency further cautioned participating institutions and applicants against making payments through any channel, including directly to NDLEA officials and testing centres. It specifically advised them “not to make any payment to NDLEA officials, testing centres or through any other payment channel in respect of this exercise.”
The NDLEA explained that candidates would be required to access its Drug Integrity Test portal through a designated link or access point provided on their respective institutional portals to complete registration and necessary documentation before taking the test. It urged applicants to follow the prescribed procedure for an orderly exercise, while appreciating the Ministry of Interior's cooperation and reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and efficient testing process.
