The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, King Oboro Gbaraun II, JP, the Pere of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, on his inauguration as Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Institute for Niger Delta Studies (INDS), Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State.

In a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor described the appointment as “well-deserved,” saying it was a testament to the monarch’s outstanding leadership, wisdom and commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

The Speaker said the new responsibility had added another befitting feather to the monarch’s cap and further demonstrated his nobility, character and sense of purpose as a traditional ruler.

“I am confident that under your chairmanship, the INDS will be taken to greater heights and make more enduring impact in line with the objectives for which it was established,” Guwor stated.

He noted that King Gbaraun II’s wealth of experience, leadership capacity and deep understanding of the Niger Delta would be invaluable to the Institute as it pursues its mandate of promoting research and development in the region.

Guwor, on behalf of his family, the people of Warri South-West Constituency and the Delta State House of Assembly, warmly felicitated with the monarch and wished him a successful tenure.

“Congratulations, Your Majesty!” the Speaker added.
