The Committee For the Defence of Human Rights,CDHR, Delta State Branch today said it is fulfilled with the deployment of CP Samuel Erale Etaifo to pilot the leadership of the Delta State as the new Commissioner of Police just as the  the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Olatunji Disu transferred CP Yemi John Oyeyemi out of the State saying,The deployment shows the principle of inclusitivity.

Delta State CDHR's Chairman,Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen said this in a statement available to newsmen in Warri.

Agberen who doubles as National Coordinator, ISRCA expressed hope that principle of inclusivity and national spread will be applied to other security agencies.

Agberen noted that,"As part of our advocacy, we have consistently called for fairness, equity, and adherence to federal character in the deployment of heads of security agencies.

"For a long time, key command positions appeared to be concentrated in certain regions. This created concerns about inclusion and representation."

According to him,"It is therefore a welcome development that the newly deployed Commissioner of Police to Delta State, CP Samuel Erale Etaifo, hails from the South-South region.

"We are fulfilled by this appointment and we hope this same principle of inclusivity and national spread will be applied to other security agencies, because the strength of our nation lies in the beauty of our multi-ethnic diversity."

He opined that,"When every region feels represented, we build stronger trust between the people and our security institutions.

Agberen also expressed concerns over the frequent transfers of Commissioner of Police from the State Command.

"It is quite concerning that the Nigeria Police Force has deployed three Commissioners of Police to Delta State within the last 7 months."

"While we will not delve into internal affairs of the Force, this trend raises serious questions about stability, continuity, and the unique challenges of policing Delta State and it is becoming clear that the office of CP Delta comes with interest given these incidents and concerns in the recent events."

Agberen congratulated newly deployed Commissioner of Police,CP Samuel Erale Etaifo on his appointment just as he pledged that the Delta State Branch of the CDHR and ISRCA will collaborate with CP Etaifo in the interest of peace and security.

"Sir, it is our earnest expectation that you will set a new precedent for good policing in Delta State by:
"1.  Strengthening security across the State
"2.  Upholding the rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights
"3.  Instilling discipline and zero tolerance for crime and misconduct among personnel
"4.  Building stronger partnership with communities and civil society.

Agberen stressed that,"Delta people deserve safety, justice, and professional policing. I wish you great success in your tour of duty, Sir. CDHR Delta State Branch and ISRCA Nationwide is ready to collaborate with you in the interest of peace and security."
