CSR Drive Targets Water, Security and Night Economy in Host Communities

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has extended its Corporate Social Responsibility drive to seven Delta communities with the commissioning of solar-powered boreholes and street lights aimed at improving security, water access, and livelihoods.

The projects were commissioned on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in partnership with Grosvenor Global Services Limited, one of Tantita’s key subcontractors.

The intervention covered two areas of need across the host communities:

Solar Street Lights: Ajomata, Ikweghwu, and Ibada-Amukpe communities
Solar-Powered Boreholes: Ibada-Elume, Oyohen, Amukpe, and Adagrassa communities

Speaking at the event, Community Relations Manager of Tantita, Pastor Seimode Akposafagha Benedict, who represented Managing Director, High Chief Engr. Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, said real security must include community welfare.

“The protection of Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure must go hand in hand with investments in the people who host these assets,” he stated.

He noted that Grosvenor Global Services provided the facilities under its CSR programme, and urged other partners to align with projects that address critical community needs and promote peaceful coexistence.

“As we commission these projects today, let us continue to strengthen the bond of trust, cooperation and mutual respect that has made our collective successes possible,” Seimode added.
He also charged residents to protect and maintain the facilities for long-term benefit.

Community leaders welcomed the projects and said they would address long-standing challenges.

Chairman of Ajomata Community, Sapele LGA, Mr. Cyril Omor-Oba, said the street lights would improve nighttime security and movement. He appealed for more lights to cover other areas and pledged community support to safeguard the installations.

In Ibada-Amukpe and Ikweghwu, representatives said visibility on major roads and public spaces had already improved.

Chairman of Ibada-Elume Community, Mr. Friday Omerhiowan, described the solar borehole as “a timely intervention” that would give residents reliable access to clean water.

Tantita said the projects are expected to support safer movement at night, improve access to potable water, and stimulate social and economic activities in the beneficiary communities.

The company reiterated its commitment to working with partners and host communities to ensure that development and security grow together in the Niger Delta.
