NUJ Warri Chairman, Omafuaire, Dafinone, Waive bag Rotary awards in Delta

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Warri Correspondents' Chapel, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire Esq on Sunday bagged the Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis Meritorious service and leadership award in recognition of his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to community development and service to the advancement of society. 

The award was conferred on him by the newly installed 18th President of Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis,RTN Akpobome Rufu Ibebe.

The event held at Wetland hotel in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. 

In his acceptance speech, Okakuro Omafuaire dedicated the award to Journalists in Delta State and the Chairman, Body of Benchers in Nigeria, HRM. King Albert Akpomudje SAN and his friends.

While thanking Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis for the honour done him, Okakuro Omafuaire assured them that the honour will spur him to greater leadership roles and his commitment to bringing a better society. 

The member representing the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, Sen. Ede Dafinone, the member representing the people of Ughelli North/Ughelli South&Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, RT. Ejiroghene Francis Waive and the member of representing the people of Ughelli North 1 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Omonade were also conferred with the Rotary awards. 

Earlier in his inaugural speech, the President of Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis, RTN Akpobome Rufus Ibebe expressed gratitude and humility and sincerity to serve the club as its president..

He appreciated the immediate past president,RTN Anne Atiku and other past leaders for his mentorship journey in rotary. "Thanks for the confidence reposed in me to serve. I will not take it for granted"he said. 

RTN. Ibebe promised that his administration of Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis as president will strengthen membership as well as empower community projects.

According to him, we will undertake power projects in Education, healthcare, disease prevention among others. 

RTN. Ibebe enjoined all Rotarians to support him in moving the Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis forward just as he pledged to lead with integrity, humility and accountability.
