Students, parents, and concerned stakeholders have expressed disappointment over what they describe as the institution's failure to issue an official statement addressing the incident, days after news of the murder emerged.

The incident, which reportedly occurred within the university environment, has generated anxiety among students who are demanding answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the death and measures being taken to ensure safety on campus.

Some students who spoke on condition of anonymity said the continued silence from the university authorities has fueled speculation and misinformation, urging management to provide clarity and reassure the campus community.

"We are worried because there has been no official communication. Students deserve to know what happened and what steps are being taken to prevent a recurrence," one student said.

Another student added, "The siblings were said have had beef from home, it developed from quarrel over slippers. The younger siblings allegedly stabbed the elder three times including on the chest and hand. Victim didn't make it to the hospital." He added.

Parents and civil society groups have also called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring anyone found culpable to justice.

Efforts to obtain comments from University Public Relations Officers were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report. Calls and messages sent to him were not immediately responded to.

But the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ezekiel Agbalagba confirmed the incident to Vanguard but failed to provide details.

As tension continues to mount, members of the university community are urging the management to break its silence and provide an official account of the incident while supporting ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, security agencies are expected to continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the reported murder.
