Democracy Day: Comptroller commends children for singing national anthem second stanza as COWA organizes party for children in Delta

As part of activities marking democracy day in Nigeria,the Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service,NCS, Comptroller Judith Kanu today commended children for sang the second stanza of the Nigeria national anthem as Customs Officers' Wives Association(COWA), Edo/Delta Command organized children's party to celebrate children. 

She said,"The second stanza that you sang of our national anthem, we the adults when we daddies and yiur mummies,we couldn't even sing it but I was encouraged and deeply touched by the way you were singing the second standard second stanza. Please keep it up.

Comptroller Kanu gave the commendation at the just concluded children's day held at the Nigeria Customs Barrack along Airport road, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

She expressed shock at the manner and speed the children sand the second stanza of the national anthem  after the DJ who played the first stanza switched off where parents were biting their tongues and counting their teeths. 

In her opening speech, Comptroller Kanu commended the leadership of the Customs Officers' Wives Association (COWA), Mrs. Musa for her unwavering commitment to the welfare of children and families within the Nigerian Customs Community and nation at large. 

According to Comptroller Kanu,the event is an opportunity to recognize the next value of our children and our collective responsibility to provide them with the right and required guidance,education protection and opportunity they need.

While noting that the children represent hope, innovation, Comptroller said they are promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Comptroller Kanu congratulated the children saying,"You are the pride of your families, Community and the Nation."

She also enjoined the children to focus on their studies as well as respect their parents and teachers adding that they should,"Cultivate good values and stay away from negative influences". She said,"The future belongs to those who prepared for for it today through hard work, listen to me the future is very bright for you and how will you make your future bright is by preparing for it today it's now that your are parents send you to school that you will prepare for your tomorrow."

She emphasized that the future belongs to those who prepare today through hard work, discipline and integrity."

Comptroller Kanu reminded the officers if the importance of patriotism pointing out that they have a responsibility and duty to create an Environment where children can grow into responsible citizens who will contribute positively to National development.

"I also wish to appreciate parents guidance teachers and caregivers for the sacrifices they make daily to ensure the wellbe and development of our children you are effort are shaking the next generation of our leaders pronounce entrepreneurs and public servant to a celebr ate the right of every child is mandatory.

"It is compulsory its something everyone of Us must do promoting the quality a very and couraging healthy life Science and supporting initiative that empower young people to realize their food potential of behalf of officers and Men of the day Delta command.

"I wish all children a joyful and memorable children's day celebration may you continue to grow in wisdom knowledge strength and good health and character in the name of Jesus thank you all for your present and support happy celebration to all our wonderful children."

In her welcome address, the Coordinator, Customs Officers' Wives Association(COWA), Mrs. Musa appreciated the children, encouraged  as well as reminded them that they're special, and precious gifts to their families and the nation just she welcomed everyone to the event. She also urged stakeholders nurture the children with care,discipline, moral and give the children quality education. 

In her goodwill message,the Mess Coordinator, Agboma Eunice shared in the joy of the children whom she christened as "future leaders". She said the children have aot of task to do. 

Agboma also enjoined the children to read their books,pay attention to their academics which according to her is important. 

Agboma also urged parents to take care of their children, monitor them and know the kind of friends they keep despite the situation of the nation.
