Breaking: INEC releases fresh ward delineation for Warri Federal Constituency, creates new federal constituency

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the long-awaited fresh delineation of electoral wards and polling units for the Warri Federal Constituency, in compliance with the Supreme Court judgment.

The exercise covers Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State. INEC also created a federal constituency for the Ijaw and Itsekiri communities in Warri North and Warri South-West.

Revealed that the newly created federal constituency is subject to constitutional amendment by the National Assembly.

According to our reporter, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, a focal person representing the Ijaws said, INEC convened an emergency meeting in Asaba where the Supervising National Commissioner and Electoral National Commissioner presented the report to representatives of the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic nationalities.
