FG Sets 150 as Minimum Cut-Off Mark for University, Nursing College Admissions in 2026
The Federal Government has set 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into universities and nursing colleges across Nigeria for the 2026 academic session.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, at the 2026 Admission Policy Meeting convened by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Abuja.
According to Alausa, the benchmark will apply to all public and private universities and nursing colleges as part of the official admission guidelines for next year.
The policy meeting brought together key education stakeholders to review and finalize admission processes and academic standards for tertiary institutions nationwide.
The 150 cut-off aligns with the government’s ongoing effort to standardize entry requirements while giving institutions flexibility to set higher thresholds based on course demand and capacity.
