2027: Turn out for purchase of nomination forms is low, Delta PDP declares

The People's Democratic Party in Delta State, PDP said the turn out for the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms appears to be low going by its estimation as it kicked off electioneering process in the State. Delta State PDP Secretary, Alaowei, Cleric Ebikonbowei, Esq disclosed this in a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri. 

According to the PDP ,"As for the turn out for the purchase of forms, the turnout appears to be low in our estimation but Deltans still believe in our Party very much. 

"Our platform will surely provide internal democracy to our members."

When asked whether the party will adopt the "consensus" model in the conduct of its primaries, the party explained that,"The issue of consensus candidates can only come in where there is no opposition. 

"Any position where two or more people aspire, we will conduct elections to pick the more popular candidates amongst the contestants."

While noting that the sales of forms commenced since on the 27th of April,the PDP pointed out that same 
will expire this week.

The PDP Scribe said the party will field candidates in all the positions in the State. 

"Our presidential primary will take place on the 17th of May, while House of Representative will take place on the 21st of May. Senate is 23rd of May, House of Assembly is on the 25th and governorship will be on the 27th of May respectively."
