Tantita Coordinator: Pipeline Security Contract Not a Niger Delta Slot
A Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited coordinator has defended the company's pipeline surveillance contract, saying it was awarded based on competence, not regional or ethnic considerations.
Engr. Samson Uwatse, Tantita Coordinator covering Warri River, Ugbodede Community, and part of Trans-Forcados pipeline, stated that the contract was lawfully awarded to Tantita after meeting the required standards.
Uwatse emphasized that Tantita's work speaks for itself, citing the significant reduction in pipeline vandalism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in the region since the company's inception.
He urged critics to seek legitimate opportunities at the federal level rather than agitating for the contract's revocation, saying, "This job is not a Niger Delta slot, it's a contract awarded to a competent hand to handle."
Uwatse praised Tantita's leadership, led by High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka; Tompolo saying they met the requirements and beat others to secure the contract.
The coordinator's statement comes amid calls for the contract's revocation, which he described as misguided and self-serving.
Tantita's operations have improved security and stability in the Niger Delta, with the company's efforts reflected in the region's calm waters and reduced criminal activities.
