Delta Assembly speaker congratulates APC State leadership, urges unity and inclusiveness

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State Chapter, following the successful conduct of the party’s state congress.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Rt. Hon. Guwor expressed confidence that the Chief Solomon Arenyeka-led executive would consolidate the party’s achievements and strengthen its operations across the state.

“Leadership comes with both honour and responsibility, and I am confident that the new executive will justify this mandate by promoting unity, strengthening internal democracy, and advancing the collective aspirations of our party faithfuls across Delta State,” Guwor said.

The Speaker described the affirmation of the state executive at the well-attended congress at the Cenotaph, Asaba, as a clear testament to the trust and confidence reposed in them by party members across the state.

As Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Guwor highlighted the critical role of vibrant and well-organized political parties in deepening the nation’s democracy. He emphasized that constructive engagement, healthy competition of ideas, and people-centered policies are essential for sustainable development and good governance.

“I therefore encourage the new leadership to prioritize inclusiveness, reconciliation, and collaboration, ensuring that all stakeholders are carried along in the journey ahead. The progress of Delta State must remain our shared commitment, beyond political affiliations,” he added.

Guwor also praised the party for conducting the congress in a transparent and orderly manner, which he said reflects growing political maturity among members and strengthens internal democracy within the APC.

He urged the party leadership to continue fostering dialogue among members and to ensure that all decisions are anchored on unity and collective progress.

“Once again, I congratulate the new leadership of our great party on their emergence and wish them a successful and impactful tenure in service to our party and our dear state,” the Speaker concluded.

The message underscores the importance of cohesion within the APC in Delta State as the party seeks to maintain its influence and implement its agenda across the region.
