The operations, carried out under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, also led to the arrest of suspected drug traffickers and an alleged armed robber and cultist.

In the first operation, which took place on February 13, 2026, at about 10:30 p.m., operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad on routine stop-and-search duty along the Asaba–Agbor Expressway near Northwest Filling Station intercepted a white J5 bus with registration number 7BGT 60LG.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 1,520 packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets concealed beneath company machines. The driver, Ebuka Dominion, 30, from Aguta Local Government Area of Anambra State, and the motor boy, Emmanuel Terdule, 30, from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, were arrested at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs were intended for distribution. Acting on information obtained during interrogation, operatives arrested Peter Etim Akpan, 47, from Nibiaya Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, who is alleged to be the owner of the consignment. Police said investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate.

In a separate operation on February 22, 2026, at about 3:20 p.m., operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team arrested Collins Darlington, 23, of Ughewughe community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, over alleged involvement in a series of robberies in Warri metropolis.

The arrest followed credible intelligence and coordinated surveillance, which led operatives to apprehend the suspect at Otor Uweku area of Ughelli town.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly led officers to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri, where a locally made gun buried in the ground was recovered. Police said Darlington confessed to being a member of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in several door-to-door robbery incidents within Warri.

The Command said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal gang identified in the course of investigation.

Commenting on the operations, CP Aina Adesola stated that the Delta State Police Command remains committed to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property. He urged residents to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information to strengthen the fight against crime across the state.
