Delta Speaker Hails Okowa’s Appointment as South-South Coordinator of Renewed Hope Initiative

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated former Governor of the state, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment as South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor described the appointment as “well deserved,” adding that the Assembly looks forward to the positive impact of Okowa’s stewardship on the region and the country at large.

Guwor said Dr. Okowa’s integrity, strategic vision and strong stakeholder engagement skills have earned him the confidence of the President and the respect of leaders nationwide.

The Speaker, who also serves as National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, noted that the former governor possesses a deep understanding of the economic and developmental challenges confronting the South-South region.

He further highlighted Okowa’s “unwavering commitment to the region’s progress” and his record of transparent and impactful governance, expressing optimism that the appointment signals renewed focus on inclusive growth and infrastructure advancement across the Niger Delta.

“His Excellency, Dr. Okowa’s leadership will be pivotal in translating the President’s vision into tangible projects that uplift the people of the South-South and reinforce the administration’s commitment to equitable national development,” Guwor stated.

The Speaker expressed confidence that strengthened collaboration among the Delta State Government, the Renewed Hope Initiative and the Federal Government will accelerate development outcomes and bolster the success of President Tinubu’s administration.
