VDM and Mr. Jollof kicked off United Nigeria Flight after heated clash
United Nigeria Airlines has officially confirmed the dramatic deboarding of social media firebrand Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), alongside media personality Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, better known as Mr. Jollof, after a heated altercation broke out at the Asaba International Airport on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The confrontation reportedly erupted just as passengers were boarding Flight UN0523, forcing the airline’s crew to step in swiftly. In a statement signed by the carrier’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, MNIPR, United Nigeria Airlines said the team acted “professionally and in full compliance with global aviation safety protocols” to contain what appeared to be a rapidly escalating situation.
According to the statement, both men were immediately taken off the aircraft and handed over to airport security officials for further investigation. The airline reiterated that it enforces a firm zero-tolerance policy toward any conduct that may jeopardize “the safety, comfort, or security of passengers and crew.”
Once the mandatory safety checks were concluded, Flight UN0523 departed Asaba as scheduled, leaving VDM and Mr. Jollof in the custody of airport authorities as inquiries continued into what sparked the clash in the first place.
United Nigeria Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and secure travel environment across all its operations and an emphasis that, in this case, translated into decisive action before the aircraft ever left the ground.
