Mamamu calls for police investigation, urges calm amid campaigns targeting Tompolo and Otuaro
National President of the Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC), Comrade Bene Mamamu, has condemned recent campaigns targeting Niger Delta leader High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro.
Speaking at a press conference in Warri, Mamamu urged the police to investigate the origin of the campaigns and to take appropriate action if laws were broken. He warned that unchecked negative campaigning could threaten peace in the region and called for restraint.
Mamamu said he was concerned about a recent protest in Abuja and urged those involved to avoid actions that could undermine regional unity. He appealed to community members to support ongoing peace and development efforts in the Niger Delta.
He also praised Tompolo and his security outfit, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), and highlighted their role, in his view, in contributing to security and stability in parts of the region. Mamamu called for any allegations against public figures to be properly investigated through legal channels.
