Akpomudje Congratulates Odutemu on reelection as Archbishop of Bendel Province

The Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of Ughelli, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Grace, the Most Rev’d Dr. Cyril Odutemu, on his reelection  as the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bendel.

In a statement yesterday, Akpomudje described Archbishop Odutemu’s appointment as “a divine recognition of unwavering service, spiritual leadership, and unflinching commitment to the growth of the Anglican Church in Nigeria.”

“On behalf of the Diocese of Ughelli, I warmly congratulate His Grace, the Most Rev’d Dr. Cyril Odutemu, on his well-deserved re-election as Archbishop of Bendel Province,” the statement read. 

“This is a significant milestone, not just for the Bendel Province, but for the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) as a whole.”

Akpomudje, Vice Chairman of Body of Benchers, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Otota of Olomu Kingdom, an influential figure in both legal and ecclesiastical circles, praised Archbishop Odutemu for his years of impactful ministry, calling him “a shepherd after God’s heart.”

He also expressed optimism that under Archbishop Odutemu’s leadership, the Bendel Province would continue to thrive spiritually, socially, and structurally, noting that his tenure promises to usher in a new era of unity, faithfulness, and development across the dioceses.

The Ecclesiastical Province of Bendel comprises several Anglican Dioceses across Delta and Edo States and plays a vital role in the spiritual direction of the Church of Nigeria. 

Archbishop Odutemu, who is also the Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, succeeds in leading this important province with a rich history of Christian mission and growth.
