Governor Oborevwori Vows to Serve Deltans in Line With God’s Will, Seeks Prayers for Success

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his commitment to leading the state in accordance with God’s will, urging citizens to support his administration through prayers and unity.
Speaking during an unannounced worship visit to Heroes of Faith Ministries in Ughelli North Local Government Area on Sunday, the Governor expressed gratitude for the support received during the 2023 elections and called for continued intercession to ensure the success of his government.
We will continue to serve you according to the will of God,” Oborevwori said. “Pray for us, especially those of us in positions of power, so we are not distracted from our mission.”
The Governor’s visit surprised even his aides, as he had informed Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi that his appearance would be unannounced.
I told our Lord Bishop that when I will come, I will come unannounced. I came today because I genuinely wanted to hear the word of God,” he said.
Governor Oborevwori publicly thanked Bishop Enakirerhi for backing his candidacy in 2023, despite opposition and criticism from certain quarters.
"People said you betrayed them because you followed God’s direction and openly supported me. But today, the evidence speaks,” he said, citing major infrastructural strides across the state, including the construction of a flyover in Ughelli.
The Governor emphasized that his administration, under the MORE agenda focused on Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security is actively implementing projects that improve lives across Delta State.
"When you point to the flyovers and road projects, people will respect your decision to support me because it is yielding results,” he added.
In his remarks, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi lauded Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, describing him as a “detribalized Deltan” who serves all constituents without bias.
The Bishop praised the Governor’s infrastructure achievements, including the approval of a new flyover at Otovwodo Junction and ongoing road construction projects in Ughelli. He noted that the Governor’s ability to match words with action has silenced critics and brought joy to local communities.
"You are a man of speed. You say it, and you do it,” the Bishop declared.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the Ughelli North Local Council Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, for his effective leadership at the grassroots level.
In a sermon titled “Living for Christ,” Bishop Enakirerhi called on individuals to turn away from evil and wickedness, urging spiritual transformation across the nation.
The service ended with prayers for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, seeking divine wisdom and strength as they lead Nigeria and Delta State toward greater development.
