Breaking- CDHR Delta gets new Exco to pilot its affairs

The Delta State Branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR today elected new executives into office to pilot its affairs in the next two years. The election held shortly after the Branch's annual convention in Udu Local Government Area. 

The election was observed and supervised by Comrade Olorunwo Alfred (A.K.A) Comrade Black, a representative of CDHR's National President/NEC of the organization Comrade Debo Adeniran who immediately swore them into office immediately with a charge to them to conduct themselves in a manner that will usher in unity and Oneness amongst members of the Committee. 

Members of the new Executives of the CDHR include, Comrade Fidelis Ejechi - Chairman, Comrade Wale Ajayi - Vice Chairman, Comrade Omavuaye Amrevuawho - Secretary, Comrade, Daniel Ezewele - Treasure. 

Others include, Comrade Omamoromo E. O. Bernard - Internal auditor and they were sworn-in immediately by Comrade Alfred Olorunwo, the representative of the National Executive Committee/National President, Comrade Debo Adeniran.


The positions of the Branch publicity Secretary, Legal Adviser and Assistant Secretary were announced to be filed in due course.

Our Correspondent who monitored the election reports that they were actually returned unopposed at the election which held at the State's Secretariat, New Vision Academy Hall, No. 4, Ubeku Close, Owhase, Udu, Delta State in the expansive premises of the immediate past Chairman, Comrade (Elder) A.P. Edariese. 

The Electoral Officer Comrade Chukwuka Opia, After Going Through The rigorious scrutiny of the financial reports/activities of the elected officers called on members to nominate the elected members before the election was conducted. 

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Delta State CDHR, Chairman, Comrade Fidelis O. Ejechi vowed that his executive will be diligent, proactive to it's duties and encourage members of the Committee to uphold the laid down principles and objectives of the CDHR  to achieve optimal goals. He added that his executive will commence operation from where the immediate past Chairman, Comrade (Elder) A.P. Edariese stopped just as he assured that they will work in unity to achieve the aims and objectives of the Organization. 

The immediate past Delta State CDHR Chairman, Comrade (Elder) A.P. Edariese who narrated the encounter he faced from aggrieved members of the Committee said, same led to the setbacks of the Committee in terms of progress. He advised the newly elected officers to be steadfast and focused on the activities that will bring back the lost glory of the Committee. 

The main Theme of the convention is "Police and the Nigerian Society, Human Rights Perspective" while the Sub- Team is "Criminal Justice System in Nigeria, Human Rights Angle". 

During the CDHR 2025 Annual Convention/Election, the Presiding Judge of the Delta State High Court, Justice.G.O. Umuko and a renowned lawyer, Dr. Akpo Odje delivered interesting lectures.
