NUJ commends Tompolo, Tantita, calls for repairs of Eburu street

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Warri Correspondents' Chapel has commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and its chairman, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, for constructing and equipping a state-of-the-art press centre for them.

Below is the full communique issued after the NUJ Warri Correspondents' Chapel's maiden Congress held at the new High Chief Government Ekpemupolo Press Centre on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Communique:

The Warri Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, during its maiden Congress at the new High Chief Government Ekpemupolo Press Centre in Warri, Delta State, deliberated on a wide range of issues and resolved as follows:

1. The Congress commended and appreciated Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) and its chairman, High Chief Government Owiezide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, for building and equipping a befitting edifice for practising journalists in Warri, Delta State.

2. The Congress appreciated the role and effort of the Managing Director, TSSNL, High Chief Kestin Pondi, and Dr. Paul Benenimibo, for facilitating the project.

3. The Congress also appreciated the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for inaugurating the state-of-the-art building.

4. Congress saluted its national leader and pathfinder, Asiwaju Sola Adebayo, for his sagacity and generosity in building the permanent secretariat for NUJ Warri.

5. The Congress sent warm appreciation to the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, His Royal Majesty, Oghenechuko Morris Eyekpimi, Owhotenu 1, for monitoring and ensuring seamless construction.

6. The Union commended the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Majesty, King Monday Obukowho Whiskey PhD, Odurhie 1, for contributions and gracing the inauguration ceremony.

7. The Congress commended the current and immediate past National Presidents of NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahyah and Comrade Chris Isiguzo, and Delta State Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe.

8. While praising Governor Oborevwori's landmark projects, the Union lamented the deplorable state of Eburu Street and appealed for reconstruction.

9. Congress called on the state government to tackle perennial flooding in Warri, Udu, Uvwie, and Okuokoko by constructing workable drainages.

10. The Congress thanked the state governor for flyover projects and requested remedial work on the Effurun Roundabout/DSC Roundabout stretch.
