Ogun State is set to witness a major boost in employment and green industrial growth as Neveah Limited launches its aluminium and copper recycling plant. The multi-billion Naira facility is projected to create over 6,500 jobs and generate $150 million in export revenue annually.
The company’s Executive Officer, Ibidapo Lawal, made the announcement during the plant’s first production run on Tuesday. He described the event as more than just a technical milestone, calling it a significant step toward economic development and environmental progress.
“This recycling plant represents a multi-billion Naira investment capable of processing over 44,000 metric tons of aluminium and copper annually,” Lawal said. “It is expected to generate over $150 million in export earnings, create 500 direct and over 6,000 indirect jobs, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 377,000 tons per year.”
He noted that the plant is a powerful example of how industry can drive change, highlighting its role in both job creation and climate action. “This isn’t just about production,” he said. “This is about shaping the future.”
Lawal added that the facility positions Neveah as a key player in Africa’s green industrial transition. He emphasized the company's commitment to redefining the continent’s role in the global circular economy and supporting Nigeria’s broader goal of economic diversification.
“The facility meets global purity standards, making it a valuable addition to Nigeria’s raw materials export portfolio and enhancing its presence in the global circular economy,” he explained.
With full operations underway, the recycling plant is expected to become a cornerstone of Nigeria’s sustainable industrial landscape. It brings new hope for thousands of jobs, foreign investment, and progress toward a cleaner, more resilient economy.
