President Tinubu Visits Benue, Condemns Renewed Violence in Yelwata

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Thursday afternoon as part of a federal effort to assess and respond to the recent wave of violent attacks that have rocked parts of the state.

Touching down at the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command Base in Makurdi, President Tinubu was received by state officials and security chiefs before heading to Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area—one of the epicentres of the recent crisis.

The visit marks a crucial step in the President’s direct engagement with affected communities and his administration’s broader commitment to restoring peace and order in the Middle Belt region.

Yelwata and surrounding areas have witnessed a series of deadly attacks in recent weeks, displacing residents and deepening security concerns.
