Saraki sounds the alarm: Nigerians fed up, craving real change

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has issued a passionate call for national reflection, warning that Nigerians are growing weary under the strain of ineffective governance by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Saraki, who once governed Kwara State, spoke during the weekend as thousands of residents defied stormy weather to take part in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership registration exercise. For him, the overwhelming turnout is more than a political event — it's a cry for change.
“In Kwara, despite the heavy rain, we saw young people, elders, and everyday citizens stepping out to register,” he said. “This was not just about numbers — it was about the spirit behind it. People are done watching from the sidelines; they want in. They want better.”
The former Senate President praised the resolve of those who turned up, describing the event as a symbol of the people’s yearning for transformation.
“This moment may seem small, but it speaks volumes,” Saraki noted. “What moved me wasn’t just the crowd — it was what they stood for: a shared hunger to shift away from the current governance model.”
He stressed that change doesn’t happen overnight, but through persistent and united action. According to him, the PDP registration exercise signals a larger movement — one powered not by politicians, but by the will of the people.
“This isn’t just about signing a party register,” Saraki emphasized. “It’s about joining a movement that places the people at the center. A better Kwara, a better Nigeria — it’s not just an aspiration, it’s a mission.”
Encouraging more citizens to rise to the occasion, he added: “If you feel the call, don’t ignore it. Head to your ward centre and register. Our future won’t change by itself — we have to move it, together, starting now.”
