The National Leader of the Niger Delta Peace Awareness Movement (NDPAM), Alhaji Awo Destiny Harmony, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to extend the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) across the entire Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Alhaji Harmony lauded PINL for its exemplary performance in safeguarding national oil and gas infrastructure through strategic community engagement and impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

“PINL has firmly established itself as a trusted partner in promoting peace and development,” he said. “Their consistent, proactive dialogue with host communities and stakeholders has not only secured critical national assets but also built trust, unity, and sustainable development in the region.”

Commending the company’s transparent and inclusive operations, he noted that PINL’s respectful collaborations with traditional rulers and community leaders have set a commendable benchmark in corporate-community relations.

“Unlike others, PINL does not use intimidation or divide-and-rule tactics. Their model is rooted in mutual respect and dialogue, which makes them a trailblazer in community engagement,” Alhaji Harmony stated.

He further highlighted the company’s socio-economic impact, pointing out that PINL has created job opportunities for Niger Delta youths, helped reduce crime, awarded scholarships, and delivered clean water to underserved communities.

Calling for a strategic expansion of PINL’s mandate, Alhaji Harmony emphasized that securing the nation’s oil infrastructure should be based on proven competence rather than sentiment.

“PINL has shown unmatched capability and a genuine commitment to community welfare. Extending their operational scope will not only enhance infrastructure security but also promote inclusive development across the region,” he added.

He concluded by urging President Tinubu and NNPCL leadership to make a bold, visionary decision by entrusting the broader Niger Delta surveillance responsibility to PINL — a company he described as the embodiment of service, security, and social impact.
