Governor Adeleke heads to London: Targeting Global Partnerships to transform Osun's Economy

This week, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is prepared to engage in a series of significant investment discussions in London, which will include participation in the esteemed Commonwealth Business Forum and several targeted investment summits.
As developed economies seek new investment opportunities globally, Governor Adeleke intends to conduct strategic meetings with influential stakeholders, including the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria, to draw in capital and partnerships for Osun's priority sectors.
The governor’s official agenda also includes a visit to the British Museum, where he will investigate potential collaborations in the creative and cultural sectors, aiming to further showcase and export the rich heritage, arts, and creative talents of Osun.
During these various engagements, the governor is expected to emphasize the improved investment climate in Osun State, highlighting: the reduction of infrastructure deficits; the harmonization of the tax system; enhanced security for lives and property; and a streamlined 45-day process for issuing Certificates of Occupancy related to business land use.
Since November 2022, Osun State has welcomed over 100 potential investors, with more than half of those interests transforming into active projects across key economic sectors.
In addition, Governor Adeleke has urged traditional rulers throughout the state to promote peace and avoid actions that could lead to conflict or public disturbances.
He remarked, “Our royal fathers are the age-long custodians of peace and unity in their towns and villages. They are symbols of harmony and serve as grassroots mediators.”
“Whenever we are faced with governance challenges, we often turn to our royal fathers for guidance and intervention. The State Council of Traditional Rulers recently hosted me for discussions on critical state matters. That council is too vital to allow internal disputes to spill into the public domain.
“We cannot afford a situation where royal fathers are seen openly fighting one another. Left unchecked, such conduct may fuel communal tension. I urge our revered monarchs to be mindful of their public utterances in the interest of unity and peaceful coexistence across the state.”
