BOB: Udu NBA congratulates Ariwoola, Akpomudje on emergence as Chairman and Vice

THE Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Udu Branch has celebrated the emergence of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola GCON and Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Body of Bencher of Nigeria.

This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by Edmund Odohisi, Chairman, NBA Udu Branch made available to Vanguard yesterday.

According to him, "On behalf of the Executive and Members of the Udu Branch of Nigerian Bar Association, we congratulate the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola GCON and Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN for their emergence, this is the beginning of greater things for the legal practice in Nigeria.

"We are extremely glad by this cheery news because the duo have the requisite capacity to bring the expected change and new direction.

"We pray that God give them the wisdom to pilot the affairs to greater heights." He added.

The Nigerian Bar Association in their last NEC meeting had nominated Akpomudje SAN as Vice Chairman.
 
The Body of Benchers is the highest body of distinction in the legal profession.  

Members of the body are persons with the highest distinction in the legal profession made up of members of the Bar and the bench including all Supreme Court Justices, President of the Court of Appeal , Presiding Justices of the various divisions of the court of Appeal, Chief Judges of the 36 states ,Federal High Court , Attorneys General of the 36 states and the federation, 30 members representing the Nigerian Bar Association among others.  

The primary function of the Body is to call new entrants to the Bar. The Body regulates the legal profession in Nigeria.
