Again, armed herdsmen kill two, injure one other in Uwheru Community

Armed herdsmen have resumed unbridled killings of Uwheru indigenes after a momentary break with the killing of two men Monday, just as another escaped with life-threatening injuries at Agadama-Uwheru in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
This is coming months after the brutal killing of unspecified policemen on a rescue mission of their kidnapped colleagues.
Despite details of the attack still remain hazy, PEBNEWS learnt that the herdsmen ambushed the three persons in their farm at Agadama Community, killing two persons while one narrowly escaped with injuries.
Our source divulged identity of two of the three men as, Mr Eyabrokere Irhe, Mr. Okeoghene Record but the other’s Identity could not be ascertained’
Our source said that the victims were attacked in their farms on Monday unprepared and could do little to escape.
According to him, "While they were working in their farms, the herdsmen attacked them and stabbed Eyabrokere on the stomach, and the other two persons initially escaped leaving the victim in his pool of blood.
"After a while, two of them returned in an attempt to rescue the injured victim, unknowingly to them, the Fulani herdsmen laid ambushed waiting for their return to rescue their person.
"While they were about to take the injured victim from the farm, the herdsmen came again and in the process, Mr Okeoghene Record was killed just as the stabbed Eyabrokere was shot again.
"The one who was lucky to escape with injuries from the armed herdsmen came to inform the community of the unfortunate incident and a search party was sent to recover their remains.
"When the search party got to the scene, they were able to recover the corpse of Eyabrokere while that of Okeoghene was missing.
"It was after some hours that the corpse of Okeoghene was recovered after an intensive search, but the suspected Fulani herdsmen were nowhere to be found.
"It has been terrible for us in Uwheru kingdom for the past two months, they have been raping women, destroying our crops and brutalizing citizens.
"Any body that dare enter bush for faming, either get brutalized, raped or killed. They have sacked about ten communities of Uwheru kingdom, namely, Avwon, Ophrororo, Uretche, Oguname, kabanisi, Uyo, Ivrekise, Ururuwe, Ugbotude and Oreba.
"As we are talking Ohoror, Agadama and Ovwarowo communities are encircled by these Fulani bandits. Security agents are urgently needed now."
When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Edafe Bright did not respond to calls or text messages as at press time.
