Delta Cleric decries state of airport road, others, appeals to Gov. Oborevwori for assistance
The General Overseer of Goshen Freedom Tabernacle, GFT, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Prophet Austin Ariole JP today has decried the state of Airport Road, Praise Centre road that links Sokoh Estate just as he appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to rehabilitate the roads in Effurun.
The Cleric made who this known in a press conference said, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the construction of flyover and bridges in the twin cities of Warri and Effurun. "I want to commend the Governor of Delta State, RT.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori for all he's been doing. You can see road networks and the construction of flyovers and bridges in Warri and Effurun."
According to him, the State Government started the construction of the airport road with a massive drainage but the contractor has abandoned the project.
He said:"It would be disastrous if the road project is not completed before the rainy season ."
Prophet Ariole passionately appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to as a matter of urgency intervene and mobilize the contractor back to site to complete the airport road project as quick as possible before the rainy season sets in.
Prophet Ariole who christened Governor Oborevwori as "a man of integrity" expressed optimism that he (Gov.) will achieve great feet in office within record time.
"You can see what he is doing. He personally goes like former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike like a civil engineer to supervise what they're doing. So, I see him achieving greater heights in this State."
Prophet Ariole also expressed concerns about the Praise Centre road linking Sokoh Estate road. "I am very worried about that road because they just did one(1) kilometer and abandoned it and I asked, there's no reason for that. They say, it was not captured. But I heard there's a high profile government official in that area and that's why his portion was done. I believe that road was done from tax payers' money. Therefore, it will be injustice to do that part and leave the other part because there's no politician at that end.
"So, it's a call also for the Governor to look into it and quickly re-award the contract so that it will be linked from that place to Sokoh Estate.
"If you look again, Sokoh Estate linking Japka Road from Airport road, they started with all strength and power. They did drainage, road but abandoned the project. This is not healthy. Please, the Governor should hear this. Most the things these people(Contractors) are doing, they're giving him(Governor) a bad name. They should complete any project they started because it is for the service of Deltans.", he concluded.
